Romcenter 4 is a complete rewrite of romcenter 3.7 in c# language using microsoft visual studio. Compared to previous 3.7 version, it provides same features with a new interface and an updated engine. Apr 06, 2014 I have the latest MAME set and was wanting to know how to combine all my multiple versions of the same game under 1 name like the merge sets option for regular emulators. Its really messy with all these multiples on my list.

This is probably a boring topic, but it's something we all have to deal with sometime. ROM Management. Fullset checks. Rebuilding. The endless waiting. So here's the question: what makes a particular ROM manager better than the others?
Are they all basically the same, where choosing one really comes down to a personal aesthetic preference? Or do some have clear advantages, like multi-threading/multi-core support or custom rebuilding options (like filters or torrentzip support)?
The main ones I see kicking around are:
- ClrMAMEPro
- RomCenter
- RomVault
- Romulus

I've used ClrMamePro forever, and have dabbled with ROMCenter, but they both feel kinda... basic? And slow, only using a fraction of my processor's available power. What should I be using?
